Fr Paul says that in today’s Gospel (Matthew 10: 24-33) Jesus instructed the Twelve and said “the disciple is not superior to his teacher nor the slave to his master…”

Fr Paul says that today’s Gospel is part of the final section of the mission this course of Jesus that we have been delving into this whole week. Today it deals with and tells us about the fact that we must have confidence in divine protection when we face hostility and persecution as we go about continuing the mission of Jesus. Fr Paul says the image in today’s Gospel of the divine care even for a sparrow is extremely beautiful. Jesus himself is fearless in proclaiming His message. As

His disciples we must always remember when we are being ridiculed for our Christian beliefs, or accused of being narrow minded, simply be patient and generous just as Jesus was.
