Fr Paul Gooley reads from the Gospel of John (5: 17 – 30) Jesus says, ‘My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.’
Fr Paul says, in today’s gospel we see the Jews getting more upset with and trying to kill Jesus because he says he is God’s Son – thus making him equal to God. Despite his many miracles, the Jews fail to see that God has sent him, despite Jesus saying this several times. Also, Jesus reminds them that he is doing God’s will, not his own.
In closing, Fr Paul says, just as Jesus said he is here to do God’s will: how do we see God’s will for our lives?
