Fr Paul reads from the Gospel of Mark (4: 35-41) where Jesus and His disciples travel on boat through a storm.

Fr Paul says, when you think about it, Jesus seems to have chosen an unappreciative group of disciples. Yes, they called Him master, but after all that Christ has done, after all that they have seen, they still don’t trust Him. They have no hesitation in speaking to him rudely, ‘do you not care that we are going down?”.

But once Jesus’ attention has been gained and as soon as they put trust in Him, Jesus effortlessly fixes the situation. Fr Paul says the purpose of this episode is that Jesus is acting as only as God can act.

Fr Paul asks us to reflect on these questions today, ‘Do I live my life letting Jesus snooze on as I struggle to get my head above water? Do I trust Jesus?’
