In today’s Gospel (Luke 24: 35-48) the two disciples share what happened on the road to Emmaus with the other disciples who are gathered in an upper room, fearful and worried.

When Jesus stands amongst them, they can scarcely believe it. He says ‘Peace be with you’, eats fish, and uses the scriptures to allay their doubts about what has happened.

In this reflection, Fr Paul sees similarities between our current isolation and that of the disciples in the upper room. He invites us to encounter the real, living person of the Risen Christ and to be witnesses to peace and love in our own lives.
