Fr Paul reads from the Gospel of Luke (10: 1-12, 17-20) where Jesus sends out the seventy-two to all of the towns He intended on visiting.

For today’s Gospel reflection we celebrate the life of St Patrick. Fr Paul says, Patrick was born in Roman Britain in the year 385.  As a Missionary Bishop he endured many hardships and faced opposition even from friends and fellow Christians. Despite this, he worked hard to evangelise and to educate the local chiefs and their families.

Fr Paul says, St Patrick is remembered for his simplicity, pastoral care and his humble trust in God. He is also remembered for his fearless preaching of the Gospel. Patrick died in Ireland in the year 461.

In the tradition of our Church, Fr Paul invites us to ask ‘St Patrick, pray for us’!
