Fr Paul reads from the Gospel of Mark (16: 15-18) where Jesus appeared to the Eleven after He had risen and talked to them about the importance of faith.

Fr Paul says, today we celebrate the conversion of St Paul. St Paul began his life being known as the person Saul, and as Saul, he was the young man holding the cloaks of the men who were stoning Stephen. St Paul grew up to become a dedicated and efficient persecutor of Christians.

Today we celebrate Christ appearing to St Paul in a vision when he was on his way to Damascus. Christ berated him for his persecutions and then converted him to the faith. Fr Paul says, that it was from this time onwards that he was known as Paul.

In the tradition of our church Fr Paul invites us to ask St Paul, pray for us.
